Who it fits
Good fit for
This vacuum suits households with pets due to its specific rating for fur and hair pick up. The 60-minute runtime is ideal for larger homes where you need to clean multiple rooms without stopping. The 10-pound weight makes it easy to carry upstairs or into tight spaces. If you already own RYOBI 18V batteries, this kit integrates seamlessly into your existing ecosystem. The included crevice tool and dust brush handle delicate surfaces and narrow gaps effectively.
Who should skip it
You should look at another option if you need a lightweight handheld for quick spot cleaning, as this unit weighs 10 pounds. It is a stick vacuum, so it may not suit those who prefer a traditional upright design for deep carpet agitation. The runtime is listed as up to 60 minutes, which likely varies by mode; heavy-duty use will drain the battery faster. If you require wet cleaning capabilities, this dry-only vacuum is not suitable for your needs.
Verdict: The RYOBI 18V ONE+ HP is a capable pet-focused vacuum with strong runtime and suction specs. It is a solid choice for RYOBI users with medium to large homes.
Key specs explained for RYOBI vacuum
Weight: 10 pounds
This weight makes the unit manageable for daily use. You can carry it upstairs or store it in tight spaces without strain. Lighter vacuums are easier to maneuver on stairs. Heavier models may cause arm fatigue during extended cleaning. This balance suits users who clean multiple rooms or large areas regularly.
Runtime: Up to 60-minutes
You get extended cleaning time on a single charge. This allows you to tackle whole-house jobs without stopping to recharge. Longer runtime benefits larger homes or users with deep cleaning routines. Compare this to shorter runtimes that require mid-job swaps. It reduces downtime and keeps your workflow consistent.
Battery Voltage: 18V
This voltage powers the brushless motor for strong suction. Higher voltage often means more power for tough debris. It ensures the vacuum handles pet hair and dust effectively. You can use this battery with other ONE+ tools. It offers versatility if you own other RYOBI equipment in your home.
Filtration Type: Cyclonic filtration
Cyclonic separation traps dust and allergens inside the bin. This helps maintain suction power as the bin fills. It reduces the need for frequent filter cleaning. Users with allergies may benefit from this consistent airflow. It keeps the vacuum performing well over time without clogging.
Features: Brushless Motor
A brushless motor delivers more suction power and lasts longer. It reduces friction and wear compared to brushed motors. This means less maintenance and a longer lifespan for your device. You get consistent performance as the vacuum ages. It is a practical choice for users seeking durability and efficiency.
Design and build quality
According to the listing, the RYOBI 18V ONE+ HP Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum measures 26 inches in length, 10 inches in width, and 6 inches in height. These dimensions create a compact footprint that fits into standard closets or under furniture. The unit weighs 10 pounds, a balance that supports steady control without excessive arm fatigue during extended cleaning sessions. You can carry it between floors or store it in tight spaces with ease.
The body features a green finish, consistent with the brand’s standard tool aesthetic. It stands on its own, allowing you to park it upright on any floor type without leaning it against a wall. This design choice prevents tipping and keeps the unit ready for your next task. The layout includes a removable 18-Volt battery, which eliminates downtime when you need to swap power sources. This modular approach suits homes with multiple RYOBI tools.
The brushless motor is housed within a sleek casing that directs airflow efficiently. Cyclonic filtration is integrated into the main body, trapping 99.9% of allergens without requiring frequent filter changes. The handle and nozzle are sized for comfortable gripping, reducing strain on your wrists. Accessories like a crevice tool and dust brush attach securely, expanding the vacuum’s utility for tight spaces and delicate surfaces. The overall build prioritizes practical function over decorative elements, making it a reliable choice for daily pet hair removal.
Setup and everyday use guide
Setting up this vacuum involves inserting the 18V battery into the handle. The listing notes a removable battery design, which helps you eliminate downtime. You can swap in another charged battery from the ONE+ HP system if you need more runtime. The unit stands on its own, so you do not need a wall mount or special hook for basic storage. This feature adds convenience when you need quick access for daily cleaning tasks.
For everyday use, the vacuum relies on its brushless motor for power. This motor delivers two times more suction power than non-brushless alternatives. You get up to 60 minutes of runtime on a single charge. This duration is sufficient for most standard homes. The cyclonic filtration traps up to 99.9% of allergens, which is useful if you have pets. The vacuum is rated for pet fur and hair pickup.
Handling the device is straightforward. It weighs 10 pounds, making it manageable for daily use. You can carry it upstairs or store it in tight spaces without strain. The included crevice tool helps you clean in tight spaces. The dust brush is designed for delicate surfaces. You can also attach other tools like a micro-crevice tool or mini motorized beater bar, though these accessories are sold separately. The green color and compact dimensions fit well in standard closets.
Check compatibility and upkeep first
Before you buy, consider how this unit fits your existing RYOBI ecosystem. It uses the 18V ONE+ HP battery system. If you already own tools from this line, the removable battery simplifies runtime management. You can swap charged cells to eliminate downtime. However, verify that your current batteries are compatible with the HP series, as not all 18V packs share the same electronics. The listing notes compatibility with a micro-crevice tool, mini motorized beater bar, and dual-roller bar, but these accessories are sold separately. You may need to purchase them for specific tasks like pet hair removal or delicate surface cleaning. Regular upkeep involves emptying the cyclonic filtration system to maintain suction. This model stands out for its brushless motor and pet-focused design. Compare its 60-minute runtime against other options on the page. Ensure the 10-pound weight suits your strength for daily use and stair cleaning.
