Who it fits
Good fit for
This vacuum suits households with mixed flooring, including carpets and hard surfaces. The DuoClean PowerFins handle both effectively. It is ideal for pet owners because the self-cleaning brushroll reduces hair tangles. The 60-minute runtime works well for medium to large homes where deep cleaning is needed. The flexible wand helps those with low-clearance furniture. The removable hand vac is useful for stairs, cars, or upholstery. If you want a single tool for whole-home cleaning, this spec set fits your needs.
Who should skip it
You might want to look elsewhere if you need extreme suction power for heavy soil. The data lists HyperVelocity suction but does not specify wattage or air watts, which limits comparison with high-power competitors. The 9.04-pound weight is light but may feel cumbersome for some users during long sessions. If you require a wet-dry vacuum, this model lacks that capability. The dust cup is XL but still requires emptying. Those needing a very compact unit for tiny apartments may find the 46.5-inch height too large for storage.
Verdict: The Shark Vertex offers a practical mix of runtime and versatility for mixed-surface homes. Its spec sheet highlights durability and ease of use over raw power metrics.
Key specs explained
Maximum Runtime: 60 min
This vacuum offers up to 60 minutes of cleaning time. This duration allows you to clean multiple rooms or larger homes on a single charge. The runtime is measured in standard mode. If you use higher suction settings, the battery may drain faster. You can remove the battery for charging or replacement. Power Type: Cordless
This vacuum operates without a power cord. You have unrestricted movement around furniture and between rooms. There is no need to manage cords or find nearby outlets. This convenience is ideal for quick cleanups or large spaces. You can store it freely without worrying about cord length limitations. This feature suits renters or those with limited outlet access.
Filtration Type: HEPA
HEPA filtration captures and traps dust, allergens, and dander. This system prevents these particles from escaping back into the air you breathe. It creates a cleaner indoor environment for allergy sufferers. The seal ensures trapped contaminants stay inside the dust cup.
