Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need a very lightweight unit. This model weighs 14.2 pounds, which is heavier than some competitors. The base station requires dedicated space for the auto-empty dock. If you have limited storage, the dock may be cumbersome. The 60-minute runtime may not suffice for very large homes. Shark PowerDetect Key Specs Explained
Maximum Runtime: Up to 60 minutes
This rating indicates the battery duration for standard cleaning modes. You can cover larger areas without stopping to recharge. Compare this to models offering under 40 minutes, which may require mid-clean swaps for whole-home tasks. Longer runtime suits larger homes or extensive weekly cleaning sessions.
Power Type: Cordless
This vacuum operates without a tether to a wall outlet. You move freely between rooms and floors without managing cords. This suits multi-story homes or cluttered spaces where cords create tripping hazards. Unlike corded units, you must monitor battery levels during extended use.
Weight: 14.2 pounds
This is the total mass of the handheld unit. It affects how easily you lift the vacuum for stairs or high shelves. At this weight, it is manageable for most users but heavier than ultra-lightweight options under 10 pounds. Consider this if you have limited arm strength.
Width: 10.2 inches
This measures the nozzle width across the floor. A wider path covers more ground per pass, reducing cleaning time. Compare this to narrow nozzles under 8 inches, which require more overlapping strokes. This width balances coverage with the ability to navigate between furniture legs.
