Who it fits
Good fit for
You should consider this vacuum if you need a lightweight tool for quick cleanups. The 2.8-pound weight makes it ideal for carrying up stairs or into a car. The 2-in-1 design suits renters or dorm residents who need versatile cleaning for above-floor messes and bare floors. If you value easy disposal and upright storage, the CleanTouch Dirt Ejector and docking station fit your routine. It is also a good match for those who want reliable lithium-ion power without complex features or heavy equipment.
Who should skip it
Skip this model if you need deep carpet cleaning. The data does not list a motorized brush roll, which is essential for agitating carpet fibers. It also lacks a HEPA filter specification, so allergy sufferers should check other options. If you require a long runtime for large homes, the absence of battery life details is a concern. Additionally, users who prefer a larger dust cup or more advanced suction modes might find the basic cyclonic streams insufficient for heavy-duty tasks.
Verdict: The Shark UltraCyclone CH964AMZ is a practical, lightweight option for above-floor and bare-floor cleaning. Its portable design and easy-empty feature make it suitable for quick, everyday messes.
Shark UltraCyclone Key Specs Explained
Weight: 2.8 pounds
This low weight makes the handheld unit easy to carry. You can lift it to clean stairs, upholstery, or car interiors without straining your arm. It is lighter than many full-size stick vacuums. This spec suits users who prioritize portability over raw power. Check this number if you need a vacuum for above-floor tasks or small spaces.
Height: 41.1 inches
This height allows you to clean floors without bending over. It reduces back strain during routine cleanups. The length is standard for stick vacuums. Compare this to shorter models if you have mobility issues. It helps reach under low furniture when combined with the slim design. This spec supports comfortable, upright cleaning sessions.
Width: 10.2 inches
This width determines how much floor area you cover in one pass. It is narrow enough to fit between chair legs. You can maneuver it around tight furniture legs easily. Wider vacuums clean faster but struggle in cluttered rooms. This spec helps you decide if it fits your home layout. It balances coverage with agility.
Length: 7.56 inches
This dimension refers to the main body depth. A compact footprint makes storage easier in closets or cabinets. You can tuck it away without taking up much space. This spec is useful for small apartments or dorms. Compare it to bulkier models if storage is limited. It supports a tidy home environment.
Power Type: Cordless
This means the vacuum runs on a battery, not a wall outlet. You get freedom of movement without dragging a cord. You can clean rooms, stairs, and cars without unplugging. This spec defines the core convenience of stick vacuums. Check battery life details for runtime limits. It suits quick, frequent cleanups throughout your home.

Before you buy Shark UltraCyclone
This unit is a compact helper, not a whole-home deep cleaner. You will likely need it alongside a heavier stick vacuum for large carpets. The handheld mode excels at cars, stairs, and upholstery, but the small dust cup requires frequent emptying. Check your home’s layout for tight spaces where the narrow nozzle can reach. The CleanTouch Dirt Ejector simplifies disposal, but you must still rinse the filter to maintain suction. This model fits best in homes with mostly hard floors or low-pile rugs. If you have large areas, consider pairing it with a more powerful cordless option from the 1 choices here. The dock keeps it ready, but storage space matters. Ensure you have a wall or counter spot for the upright station. This vacuum suits quick, targeted messes rather than extensive cleaning sessions. It complements larger vacuums well by handling tasks the main unit cannot reach easily.
Check before you buy
- Verify if your home has mostly hard floors or low-pile rugs
- Check if you have space for the upright docking station
- Confirm you need a secondary vacuum for large carpeted areas
- Ensure you are comfortable emptying a small dust cup frequently
