This shark vertex pro multiflex cordless review breaks down the Shark Vertex Pro MultiFlex Cordless Stick Vacuum. It is a versatile cleaning tool designed for whole-home use. The device highlights two defining specifications: up to 120 minutes of runtime and HEPA filtration. These specs suggest extended cleaning sessions and improved air quality. The unit weighs 8.82 pounds and measures 46.5 inches in height. It features DuoClean PowerFins for deep pickup. This guide explains how these published numbers translate to daily use. You will see if the listed capabilities match your home’s needs.
What stands out
- Up to 120 minutes of total runtime using two removable batteries.
- HEPA filtration with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal to trap dust and allergens.
- DuoClean PowerFins brushroll for continuous contact and pet hair pickup.
- MultiFlex Technology for flexible reach and freestanding storage.
Who it fits
Good fit for
This vacuum suits households with mixed flooring types and significant pet hair. The 120-minute runtime allows you to clean large areas without frequent recharging. HEPA filtration benefits allergy sufferers by trapping fine particles. The MultiFlex design helps reach under furniture and high shelves. If you prefer a lightweight hand vac for counters, the removable unit adds convenience. It fits well in homes where deep cleaning power and extended battery life are priorities.
Who should skip it
You might want another option if you need a single-battery solution for quick cleanups. The listed 120-minute runtime requires two batteries, which may add bulk. The 8.82-pound weight could feel heavy for extended above-floor cleaning. If you do not need the flexibility of MultiFlex or the deep suction of DuoClean, a simpler model may suffice. Also, consider if you truly need the extended runtime or if a shorter cycle meets your needs.
Verdict: The Shark Vertex Pro MultiFlex offers substantial runtime and strong filtration for thorough home cleaning. Its flexible design and dual-battery system make it a capable choice for larger spaces.
Key specs explained for this vacuum
Maximum Runtime: Up to 120 minutes
This rating indicates the total cleaning time available when using two removable batteries consecutively in ECO mode. You get extended coverage for larger homes without needing to stop for recharging. This is a high figure for cordless models, allowing you to clean multiple rooms in one session. It suits users who prefer fewer interruptions during deep cleaning tasks.
Filtration Type: HEPA
HEPA filtration captures microscopic particles like dust, allergens, and dander, preventing them from escaping back into your air. This feature is essential for households with allergy sufferers or pets. It ensures that the air you breathe remains clean during and after vacuuming. When shopping, look for this spec to ensure better indoor air quality compared to standard filtration systems.
Weight: 8.82 pounds
This weight refers to the main unit, making it manageable for above-floor cleaning on furniture or ceilings. It is relatively lightweight for a full-featured cordless stick vacuum. You can hold it for extended periods without significant arm fatigue. This spec is useful for comparing portability against heavier models, which may be harder to maneuver on stairs or high shelves.
Power Type: Cordless
Cordless operation means you have no tether to limit your movement around the home. You can easily transition from floors to stairs, ceilings, or cars without unplugging. This offers greater flexibility and convenience compared to corded vacuums. It is ideal for quick cleanups or large areas where cord management would otherwise be a hindrance.
Width: 14.7 inches
This width determines the coverage area per pass. A wider head cleans more floor space quickly, reducing the time needed for large rooms. It is a standard width for stick vacuums, balancing coverage with maneuverability. When comparing, consider how this width fits through doorways and under furniture, affecting your overall cleaning efficiency and ease of use.
Design and build specs
The Shark Vertex Pro MultiFlex Cordless Stick Vacuum measures 46.5 inches in height, 14.7 inches in width, and 10.2 inches in length. The listing lists the weight at 8.82 pounds. These dimensions suggest a tall unit designed for upright floor cleaning. The compact width may help you navigate between furniture legs. The moderate weight allows for above-floor cleaning tasks, such as clearing upholstery or countertops, when you detach the handheld portion.
According to the listing, the device features MultiFlex Technology. This design element allows the wand to bend, helping you reach under low-clearance furniture. It also provides a freestanding storage option, meaning you can leave the unit upright without it falling over. The IQ Display is integrated into the handle. This layout places runtime and performance data directly in your view while you clean, so you can monitor battery levels without guessing.
The finish is black, with silver accents on the model IZ682H. The listing notes LED headlights on the brushroll. This feature illuminates hidden debris on dark floors, improving visibility during cleaning. The DuoClean PowerFins brushroll is designed for nonstop contact with the floor surface. This layout aims to maintain suction effectiveness across different floor types. The overall build prioritizes reach and visibility, supporting whole-home cleaning strategies.
Setup and everyday use
The Shark Vertex Pro MultiFlex Cordless Stick Vacuum arrives as a complete unit ready for immediate use. Its design supports flexible reach through MultiFlex Technology, which allows the wand to bend for cleaning under furniture and other tight spaces. This feature also enables a freestanding storage option, keeping the device upright and out of the way when not in use. You can transform the main unit into a lightweight handheld vacuum for above-floor tasks. This mode is suitable for cleaning furniture, countertops, and other elevated surfaces. The DuoClean PowerFins brushroll provides deep multi-surface pickup. It pulls in particles and maintains nonstop contact with the floor. The self-cleaning function helps prevent hair wrap, which is useful for homes with pets. An IQ Display on the handle gives you real-time readouts on runtime and performance. This feedback helps you manage power usage during longer cleaning sessions. HEPA filtration and an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal system trap dust, allergens, and dander. This ensures these particles stay inside the canister rather than returning to the air. LED headlights illuminate hidden debris, improving visibility in dimly lit areas. The system includes two removable batteries. These provide a combined total of up to 120 minutes of runtime when used consecutively in ECO mode at the handheld unit. This setup supports extended cleaning without frequent interruptions for recharging. The device weighs 8.82 pounds, making it manageable for daily use.
Before you buy this vacuum
You need to check if your home has the right power outlets for charging the two removable batteries. The listing notes a combined runtime of up to 120 minutes in ECO mode, but this requires using both batteries consecutively. You should verify that your storage space can accommodate the freestanding design enabled by MultiFlex Technology. The unit weighs 8.82 pounds, which is manageable for above-floor cleaning, but you must ensure you have room for the 46.5-inch height when stored upright. Regular maintenance involves emptying the dust cup and checking the HEPA filter. This filtration type traps allergens, so you should inspect it periodically to maintain suction power. Compared to other options in the Cordless & Stick Vacuums category, this model stands out for its DuoClean PowerFins and IQ Display. These features provide real-time feedback on performance and runtime. You should also consider the LED headlights for visibility in dark corners. This vacuum suits homes needing deep multi-surface pickup and extended cleaning sessions without frequent recharging.
Check before you buy
- Verify outlet availability for charging two batteries.
- Confirm storage space for the 46.5-inch height.
- Check HEPA filter access for regular cleaning.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Shark Vertex Pro MultiFlex heavy to carry upstairs?
The unit weighs 8.82 pounds. This weight applies to the main handheld vacuum body. Carrying it up stairs is manageable for most users. However, the total height of 46.5 inches means the wand adds length when attached. You should consider your stair width and hand strength before purchasing.
Does this model come with a wall mount for storage?
The provided specifications do not mention a wall mount or charging dock. The listing highlights the 120-minute runtime using two removable batteries. You will likely need to store the batteries separately or on a standard surface. Check the box contents upon arrival to confirm what accessories are included for charging.
How wide is the cleaning path on hard floors?
The vacuum measures 14.7 inches in width. This width defines the maximum coverage area of the cleaning head. It is suitable for standard hallways and living rooms. The design supports upright floor cleaning, making it efficient for large open spaces. You can cover more ground per pass compared to narrower models.
Can the Shark Vertex Pro stand upright on its own?
Yes, the design supports freestanding use. The MultiFlex Technology allows the wand to bend, which also helps the unit stand vertically.
